A fashion boutique in a large commercial complex in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Shinjuku, the area in Tokyo that exemplifies all the qualities of Tokyo as a megacity Chaos full of energy, the essence of the living city of the present time, that is Shinjuku. In such a place, I wanted to create a contrast through this boutique with a silent – still space. The white motionless space is composed by large format white tile flooring, frosted glass screens, artificially clouded mirror wall, furnitures made from aluminum plate. In a monotone space like this the clothes float. In the maddening frenzy of the city, I think this one space of relief would be refreshing.
